During the Atlanta Shared Services Leaders’ Summit, the subject of growth occupied a number of sessions. One speaker shared one if his strategies.

He assesses the territories he is looking to migrate and looks out for the people that are near retirement.

His argument is that resistance comes from those who want to keep their territory, and not always in the interest of the business.

Approaching colleagues nearing retirement, he argues, means you’re dealing with people who will happily remove themselves from the conversation, and do what is best for the business.
