Last week Lexmark completed its acquisition of Kofax Limited. Lexmark acquired Kofax in a cash transaction for $11.00 per share, for a total enterprise value of approximately $1 billion. This acquisition will nearly double the size of Lexmark's Enterprise Software annualized revenue to approximately $700 million.
Kofax, with a 2014 revenue of $297 million, provides software to capture, process and analyze data to 20,000 customers worldwide.
It’s been a busy few years for Lexmark. Lexmark acquired Readsoft in 2014 after a bidding war for the company for for approximately $251 million
Lexmark also acquired Perceptive Software in 2010 for approximately $280 million.
Lexmark’s strategic acquisitions places them to be an even greater player in the Enterprise Software world. Previously known as a printing and imaging company, Lexmark exited the inkjet printing business in 2013 and the nature of Lexmark’s business changes significantly with these acquisitions, and a company to watch.
