In preparation for Belgium's forthcoming e-invoicing mandate, set to take effect on January 1, 2026, the Federal Public Service (FPS) Finance has released a list of compliant software applications designed to facilitate Business-to-Business (B2B) electronic invoice exchange. This mandate, aligned with the European Union’s ViDA (VAT in the Digital Age) regulations, will require companies in Belgium to adopt e-invoicing software that is Peppol network-compliant.
The initial scope of the mandate focuses on pure B2B e-invoicing, a move expected to streamline invoice processes, boost automation, and expedite payment cycles across Belgian industries. Businesses using ViDA-compliant software will gain efficiencies by leveraging structured, standardized invoices that integrate seamlessly with their accounting systems, enabling faster and more secure exchanges.
Companies that already have Peppol-compatible accounting or invoicing software are prepared for the 2026 deadline, while those lacking suitable software now have access to a newly published list of compliant applications. This list categorizes available software by functionality: applications that can exclusively send e-invoices, those capable of sending and receiving e-invoices, and solutions that additionally enable direct processing within accounting systems.
Providers on the list include:
- Avalara
- Basware
- Esker
- Pagero
- Tungsten Automation
For Software Providers: Registration Still Open
The FPS Finance has encouraged software providers not yet listed to apply for inclusion through a registration form available on its website. While the list supports businesses in finding suitable e-invoicing tools, FPS Finance clarified that inclusion does not equate to endorsement, certification, or qualitative assessment of the listed software. Providers bear full responsibility for the accuracy of the information submitted, and the list remains non-exhaustive, containing only applications that have registered.
