Oman Opens Peppol Testbed Ahead of Service Provider Accreditation

Oman has opened its PINT-OM Peppol testbed, marking a significant step towards the accreditation of service providers ahead of the phased rollout of the country's Fawtara e-invoicing programme.
The first phase of the mandate is due to begin in August 2026, covering approximately 100-150 of the country's largest VAT-registered businesses. The rollout will then expand to other large taxpayers in February 2027, before extending to the remaining VAT-registered businesses in August 2027.
The test environment enables providers to validate their solutions against Oman's Peppol International Invoice (PINT-OM) specifications before progressing to formal accreditation with the Oman Tax Authority (OTA).
Successful completion of the PINT-OM conformance tests is expected to form a key stage of the accreditation process, allowing providers to demonstrate that their platforms can exchange compliant electronic invoices and Tax Data Documents (TDDs) using Oman's Peppol-based framework.
The publication of the PINT-OM specifications also gives software vendors and Access Points the opportunity to test invoice, credit note and self-billing scenarios against Oman's country-specific requirements before connecting to the production environment.
Oman is adopting a five-corner Peppol model, with Tax Data Documents transmitted to the Oman Tax Authority alongside the exchange of electronic invoices between trading partners.
The opening of the testbed represents one of the final technical milestones before accredited service providers begin connecting businesses to the Fawtara platform.
