The Polish Ministry of Finance has launched a consultation on the next phase of KSeF development, just months after mandatory e-invoicing went live for large taxpayers and most VAT-registered businesses.

The consultation, launched on 9th June 2026, focuses on areas including invoice lifecycle management, business event handling and enhancements to the KSeF API architecture.

Topics under discussion include the handling of invoice status changes, corrections, updates and the synchronisation of information between KSeF and connected business systems.

The consultation also includes proposed enhancements to the KSeF API, an area likely to attract significant interest from ERP providers, software vendors and organisations integrating directly with the platform.

The development is notable because it demonstrates that KSeF is continuing to evolve following go-live. Rather than treating mandatory e-invoicing as a completed project, the Ministry appears to be seeking industry input on how the platform can support additional business processes and operational requirements.

For organisations already connected to KSeF, the consultation may provide an early indication of how future functionality could affect integration strategies, invoice processing workflows and ongoing compliance activities.

The consultation is also a reminder that national e-invoicing platforms continue to evolve after go-live. The latest proposals indicate that Poland is already looking at how KSeF can support more sophisticated invoice management and business process requirements in the future.
