France has become the world's largest Peppol market, less than a year after DGFiP became France's Peppol Authority.

According to PeppolCheck, France had 1,399,400 businesses registered on Peppol as of 8th July 2026.

The growth has been rapid.

In June alone, 622,702 French participants were added to the network. This is the largest monthly increase ever recorded, and more than double Belgium's previous one-month record of 272,937 companies in December 2025.

The numbers point to a market reaching critical mass before France's B2B e-invoicing mandate has even gone live.

Key figures include:

  • 1,399,400 French Peppol participants
  • 622,702 new participants added in June
  • 111 Access Points serving the French market
  • The top five PAs account for 87.3% of participants

The figures are significant because they are not just mandate statistics. They are network statistics.

At this scale, Peppol moves beyond invoice exchange and starts to operate as digital infrastructure. Each new participant increases the value of the network for others, making discovery, routing and interoperability more valuable.

The French mandate may have acted as the catalyst. But the bigger story is Peppol itself.
