France issued an updated version of its technical specifications for the upcoming e-invoicing and e-reporting mandate. Developed by the Association Française de Normalisation (AFNOR), this update defines the required syntax and semantic structure for compliant electronic invoices.

Businesses subject to the mandate must ensure their ERP systems can generate invoice and reporting data in the approved structured formats.

Kamila Ferhat of Avalara says, "Companies should review the new requirements, assess their readiness, and begin updating their invoicing processes to align with Chorus Pro or a certified partner platform. Early preparation will help reduce compliance risk."

As France progresses toward a phased rollout of the mandate, companies are encouraged to review the updated specifications, assess their current systems, and begin adapting their invoicing processes accordingly. Early action will help mitigate compliance risks and ensure a smooth transition when enforcement begins.
