In February 2026, Greece announced a one-month delay in the mandatory launch of myDATA B2B e‑invoicing for large enterprises. The delay gives businesses additional time to prepare systems for integration with the national VAT reporting platform.

Key details:

  • Original go-live: 2 February 2026
  • Revised start date: 2 March 2026
  • Transition period: 2 March – 3 May 2026, allowing businesses to gradually migrate to compliant invoicing workflowsWhy the delay:
  • AADE and Ministry of Finance cited the need for extra time for technical preparation and system integration.
  • During the transition, companies can either:
  • Continue using existing ERP or accounting systems in parallel
  • Submit invoices via AADE’s web-based tools while completing full integration

Compliance context:

  • Phase 1 applies to large enterprises (2023 turnover over €1 million)
  • Phase 2, for smaller businesses, is expected later in 2026
  • Non-compliance risks: Invoices not issued through the system after the migration period may be treated as invalid, with penalties possible

This announcement highlights the practical challenges of implementing real-time e‑invoicing, while providing businesses with extra time to ensure their systems are fully ready for myDATA compliance.
