The Tax Authority of the Sultanate of Oman has taken a major step toward digital tax transformation by signing an agreement with Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) to implement a new e-invoicing system.

The agreement, signed by H.E. Nasser bin Khamis Al Jashmi, Chairman of the Tax Authority, and Eng. Sami bin Ahmed Al-Ghassani, Chief Technology Officer of Omantel, marks a pivotal move in Oman’s broader efforts to modernize its tax infrastructure and align with international best practices.

The new e-invoicing platform is expected to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and transparency of tax processes across the country, supporting Oman’s shift toward comprehensive digital governance.
