Oman's Tax Authority showcased major advancements in its digital transformation at COMEX 2025, including the “Fawtara” electronic invoicing project and new features on its upgraded e-portal.
The Authority’s e-portal has been redesigned to simplify procedures, reduce transaction steps, and offer interactive, personalized services. It meets the highest digital accessibility standards and provides multiple language options to ensure ease of use for all taxpayers.
A key development announced at the event is the new Tax Refund for Diplomatic Missions service, which allows diplomatic missions to submit Value Added Tax and Excise Tax refund requests online — replacing paper-based processes with a faster, fully digital system.
Yousef Al-Sarmi, Director of the Tax Awareness and Support Department, said the Authority will continue to expand and integrate digital services, urging taxpayers to register, file returns, and pay dues electronically to ensure smooth compliance.
