OpenPeppol has confirmed the establishment of a Peppol Authority in France, marking a major step in the continued global growth of the Peppol network.

On 8 July 2025, the French Ministry of Finance (Direction Générale des Finances Publiques – DGFIP) formally became the Peppol Authority for France. With this addition, there are now 23 Peppol Authorities worldwide, all government organisations responsible for driving adoption of Peppol in their jurisdictions.

The announcement follows a successful Proof of Concept and close collaboration between OpenPeppol and the French authorities leading the country’s e-invoicing reform programme.

OpenPeppol now counts members in 44 countries, with Peppol business documents exchanged across 65 countries. The creation of a French Peppol Authority underscores the growing global recognition of the Peppol framework as a trusted approach to e-invoicing and e-reporting.

Many contributors played a role in achieving this outcome, and OpenPeppol acknowledged their efforts in helping make the French Peppol Authority a reality.
