Pennylane Passes One Million Peppol Participants

French e-invoicing platform Pennylane has passed one million Peppol participant identifiers, following extraordinary growth around France’s e-invoicing go-live.

According to the latest Peppol-ID data, Pennylane now has more than 1.03 million Peppol participant identifiers in France, making it the country’s largest Peppol Access Point provider by publicly indexed participants.

The speed of growth is particularly interesting. Pennylane had just 1,462 participant identifiers in March, rising to 16,221 in May, 478,739 in June, 756,194 in July and 913,334 in August. On 17th September it passed one million for the first time.

Pennylane is both a French Plateforme Agréée (PA) and a Peppol Access Point. Its rapid growth comes as France’s e-invoicing and e-reporting mandate moves into operation following the 1st September go-live.

Pennylane now accounts for around 26% of publicly indexed Peppol participants in France, demonstrating the scale at which individual French PAs are onboarding businesses onto the network.

France itself has also become the world’s largest Peppol market. The latest Peppol-ID data shows almost 4 million active French participant identifiers, representing more than half of its globally indexed Peppol network.

The figures refer to Peppol participant identifiers rather than individual companies, as one company may have more than one identifier. Public Peppol Directory listing is also not mandatory, meaning actual numbers may be higher.
