Peppol Network Passes 7 Million Participants

The Peppol network has passed seven million participants globally, after adding more than 1.4 million participant identifiers in just 30 days.

As of 30th August 2026, Peppol recorded 7,118,671 participant identifiers, representing growth of 25.1% over the previous 30 days.

Growth was heavily concentrated in France, which accounted for 98% of the increase during the period.

Key figures include:

• 1,395,736 participants added in France alone

The rapid increase in France came ahead of the country's B2B e-invoicing mandate going live on 1st September 2026. By 28th August, France had already passed three million Peppol participant identifiers.

The milestone comes as Peppol takes a growing role in national B2B e-invoicing frameworks. Belgium already uses Peppol for mandatory B2B e-invoicing, while the UK has selected Peppol as the core interoperability network for its 2029 mandate. Luxembourg has also recently confirmed Peppol as the designated network for its proposed B2B e-invoicing mandate.

The figures represent distinct Peppol participant identifiers rather than individual businesses. A single legal entity may hold more than one identifier.

The figures are based on the public Peppol Directory and SML/SMP infrastructure. OpenPeppol also notes that publication in the Peppol Directory is not mandatory, meaning not every registered Peppol receiver appears in the directory.
