Peppol Network Passes Six Million Participants

The Peppol network has passed six million participants globally, following a sharp increase in registrations over the past month.

As of 12 August 2026, the network had 6,158,601 registered participants, crossing the six-million threshold for the first time. Just 30 days earlier, the network stood at 5,009,070 participants. According to www.peppol-id.eu more than one million participants were added in the space of a month, an increase of nearly 23%.

Growth is being driven by the expansion of mandatory B2B e-invoicing regimes that use Peppol as part of their infrastructure, particularly in Europe.

France and Belgium have recently emerged as two of the network's largest markets as businesses register ahead of and in response to their respective e-invoicing requirements.

Peppol is also increasingly being incorporated into national e-invoicing and digital reporting frameworks beyond its traditional European base, strengthening its role as an international interoperability network.

The six-million figure should not be interpreted as six million individual businesses.

Peppol participants are distinct participant identifiers registered on the network. A single legal entity can have more than one identifier, meaning participant numbers and company numbers are not directly equivalent.
