Peppol ViDA Pilot Advances as Testbed Update Enables Integrated E-Invoicing and Tax Reporting

The OpenPeppol ViDA Pilot is a multi-stakeholder initiative designed to test how the Peppol network can support the European Commission’s ViDA Digital Reporting Requirements (DRR). It extends the traditional four-corner e-invoicing model to a five-corner architecture.
OpenPeppol has expanded the pilot testbed, introducing new capabilities to support combined e-invoicing and tax reporting.
Two new test suites have been released:
- ViDA Billing 3.0 and Tax Reporting
- ViDA Self-Billing 3.0 and Tax Reporting
These suites enable Service Providers (C2-C3) to:
- Exchange BIS 3.0 compliant Billing & Self-Billing documents
- Submit ViDA Tax Data Documents (TDD) to an Access Point (C5) acting on behalf of a Tax Authority
The testbed supports simulation of cross-border reporting flows, including routing logic, timing and data standardisation between trading partners and authorities.
Access requires Peppol PKI authentication, with providers importing a test Access Point certificate prior to enrolment.
Supporting documentation, including environment descriptions and user guides, is embedded within the test suites to enable structured validation of both exchange and reporting scenarios.
