At its annual Knowledge 2025 event, ServiceNow announced major enhancements to its Workflow Data Fabric, unveiling a new Workflow Data Network and revealing plans to acquire data catalog and governance company data.world. ServiceNow said that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Data.World, a cloud-native data catalog and data governance platform.

The new Workflow Data Network creates a real-time, AI-ready data ecosystem by integrating with leading platforms and enterprise tools. Designed to eliminate data silos, the network connects applications and data sources to power more informed, faster decision-making across the ServiceNow AI Platform.

“As part of the Workflow Data Network, ServiceNow is working with some of the largest companies in the world to eliminate data silos head-on,” said Gaurav Rewari, SVP and GM of data and analytics products at ServiceNow. “By providing AI and workflows with real-time access to data from any source, ServiceNow unlocks the ability to act on insights faster and more effectively.”

ServiceNow has partnered with Adobe, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Boomi, Microsoft, Oracle, and others to build out this ecosystem. The company is also introducing Zero Copy connectors to major platforms like Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, and Google BigQuery, enabling secure data access without manual movement.

To further enhance its AI capabilities, ServiceNow signed a definitive agreement to acquire data.world. The integration of data.world’s catalog and governance solutions will bring enriched data context and improved lifecycle management to the ServiceNow AI Platform.

“At data.world, our mission has always been to turn data chaos into clarity, and now, together with ServiceNow, we’ll be able to take that mission further across the enterprise,” said Brett Hurt, CEO and co-founder of data.world.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
