Glitches in production is something fast-moving consumer goods companies can ill afford. Missed deadlines, delayed shipments and lost sales directly hit the bottom line.

Due to its reliance on paper-based processes and varied data systems, this used to be all too common for Kimberley-Clark (KC), maker of Kleenex, Huggies nappies and countless other everyday items.

Processes that required one or more signatures could and would grind to a halt if staff were out of the office or not acting on emails in time.

“We needed something that wasn’t connected to Sharepoint or an SAP system but that brought data together from disparate systems into a single workflow pool,” said Jessica Wesener, ITS consultant at KC.

The KC production line is now working much more smoothly. Staff have direct visibility into processes – when they were signed off and by whom.
