Banqup Group has been selected to help operate the Peppol Corner 5 Access Point that will provide the UAE Federal Tax Authority with near-real-time invoice and tax data.

The company is acting as technology provider within a consortium led by Dubai-based Clever Science Computer System Trading Co. LLC. According to Banqup’s announcement, the project began in October 2025 and its design and implementation phase was completed in May 2026. Banqup will now provide managed services and technical support.

The infrastructure supports the UAE’s decentralised five-corner e-invoicing model. Suppliers and buyers will exchange structured invoices through accredited service providers, while relevant tax data is reported separately to Corner 5 for the Federal Tax Authority.

Banqup describes the UAE as the first country to implement a fully decentralised Continuous Transaction Control and Exchange model using Peppol. This is a company claim, although the architecture is consistent with the model set out in the UAE Ministry of Finance’s official guidance.

The announcement comes as the first mandatory deadline approaches. Businesses with annual revenue of at least AED 50 million must appoint an accredited service provider by 30 October 2026 and implement e-invoicing from 1 January 2027.

Businesses below the AED 50 million threshold follow from 1 July 2027, while in-scope government entities must implement the system from 1 October 2027.

For businesses in the first wave, the completion of the government reporting infrastructure is an important milestone. However, they must still select an accredited provider and ensure their billing, finance and ERP systems can exchange compliant structured invoices by January.
