Over the past few years, shared services and business operations have been increasingly embracing digital technologies and analytics. But are they realizing the expected benefits?

sharedserviceslink and Genpact conducted a survey examining whether digital technologies and analytics are transforming business operations. The results were revealing.

  • There is a big emphasis on digital technologies and analytics. 71% of respondents have a high or extremely high focus on digital technologies, and  64% on analytics.
  • Interest has grown significantly in the past year, particularly in automation technology and analytics
  • However only 35% feel they have seen the expected benefits from digital technology and only 25% from analytics.

The key reason for not realizing the expected benefits is that many organizations do not align technology and analytics with their business outcomes. Without an effective and up-to-date strategy, they are held back by legacy systems and poor integration.
